I’m new

Your first Sunday, start to finish.

We’re a small church family on Webb Street. Here’s what happens, who you’ll meet and where to go, so nothing is a surprise.

Before you come

A Sunday at Webb Street

What happens, and when

Tap a time, or step through the morning. Times are approximate.

  1. 9:50am

    Come up the front steps

Our door is at the top of the steps on Webb Street, under the glass canopy. Someone near the door can help you find a seat or show you where to go.

Come a few minutes early if you’d like a quiet look around.

  2. 10:00am

    We sing, just voices

We sing together in English, without instruments. The song leader chooses whether to show the words on screen or use hymn books. The books are at the back of the auditorium. You can join in or listen.

  3. 10:15am

    Prayer and Scripture

We pray together and listen to readings from the Bible. If you’d like to follow along, Bibles are at the back of the auditorium with the hymn books.

  4. 10:25am

    The Lord’s Supper

Each Sunday we share bread and the cup to remember Jesus’ death and resurrection. The trays are passed along the rows; you’re welcome to simply pass them on.

  5. 10:40am

    A message from the Bible

We listen to a sermon from the Bible, usually about 25 minutes long.

  6. 11:30am

    Bible Classes for every age

Bible Classes follow worship, with classes for every age, including Sunday School for children. Tea, coffee and a light snack are available at the back during Bible Classes and afterwards.

  7. After Bible Classes

    Tea, coffee and a chat

Tea, coffee and a light snack are available at the back. You’re welcome to stay for a chat.

What happens in worship

Simple, and the same every week

We try to worship the way the first churches did in the New Testament: plainly, together, with nothing to perform.

Prayer
Spoken simply, by members of the church.
The Lord’s Supper
Bread and the cup, every Sunday (Acts 20:7).
Singing, a cappella
Voices only, everyone together (Colossians 3:16).
Bible study
A sermon, then classes where questions are welcome.
Two men embracing in the baptistry, still in the water, moments after a baptism.
A baptism at Webb Street. If you’d ever like to talk about it, just ask. No pressure.
An older church member laughing as children climb on him and hug him at a park picnic.

Children

Bible classes for all ages

Children are welcome in worship. Bible Classes start at 11:30am, with children grouped by age. Teachers are members of the church and use our Sunday School curriculum.

Parents are welcome to sit in on their children’s classes. There is also a nursery if you need it. Sunday classes normally pause during school holidays.

Plan a visit

Let us know you’re coming

We’ll look out for you at the door, save you a seat and introduce you to a few people. Completely optional: you’re welcome to just turn up.

Only so we can say hello. We won’t add you to any lists.
